Installation

Requirements

Section titled “Requirements”
  • Node.js 22.9.0 or newer
  • A SAPUI5 or OpenUI5 project directory

The analyzed project normally contains ui5.yaml and an application source directory such as webapp/.

Run without installing

Section titled “Run without installing”

Use npx to run the latest release directly:

cd path/to/my-ui5-app
npx @satiroglu/kaev@latest

Install globally

Section titled “Install globally”

Install once and use the kaev command in any project:

npm install --global @satiroglu/kaev
cd path/to/my-ui5-app
kaev check

Install for a project

Section titled “Install for a project”

A development dependency is recommended for reproducible CI runs:

npm install --save-dev @satiroglu/kaev
npx kaev check

Package installation requires registry access. Project analysis itself runs offline.

Verify the installation

Section titled “Verify the installation”
Terminal window
kaev --version
kaev doctor

kaev doctor checks Node.js compatibility, project detection, configuration, source roots, baseline presence, and UI5 Linter availability.
